The Las Vegas Raiders have a few players on their roster who are some of the best players at their respective positions in the NFL.

Those players are paid as such. General Manager Dave Ziegler understands the importance of signing his elite talent and locking them up to long-term contracts so they are Raiders for years to come.

Ziegler also understands the importance of positional value, as the team’s top three contracts are players at some of the most important positions in football on both sides of the ball.

Today, let’s take a closer look inside the numbers for the Raiders’ top three highest-paid players based on average salary, according to Spotrac.com.

Wide receiver Davante Adams -- Adams has by far the biggest contract on the Raiders, and for good reason. After acquiring the star receiver from the Green Bay Packers, Ziegler gave Adams a five-year, $140-million contract, with an average salary of $28 million.

The Packers franchise tagged Adams in the 2022 offseason, and he refused to play on the tag, so he was eventually traded. The Raiders are glad he was, as he caught 100 passes for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Adams was named to his sixth straight Pro Bowl and third straight First-Team All-Pro last season. So far, Adams has earned every penny of his massive contract.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo -- The Raiders signed Garoppolo to a three-year, $72.75-million contract this offseason, with an average salary of $24.25 million.

Garoppolo has been a winner throughout his career, posting a 40-17 record as a starting quarterback with two NFC Championship Game starts and a Super Bowl appearance.

He has dealt with various injuries throughout his career, so the Raiders are counting on him to stay healthy and lead them back to the playoffs.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby -- Crosby is by far the Raiders’ best player on defense and is one of the top edge rushers in the NFL. The Raiders gave him a four-year, $94-million contract extension in the 2022 offseason, showing their belief in his development and continued rise to stardom.

Crosby responded by posting a career-best 12.5 sacks and a league leading 22 tackles for losses last season. As the Raiders are looking to improve their pass rush, they are counting on Crosby to lead that turnaround in a big way.

The Raiders clearly believe in Crosby as a franchise cornerstone, and he has been worth his massive extension.
