Raiders' MNF Victory Was a Tad 'More Sweet' for Adams

In this story:
Any win in the National Football League should not be taken for granted.
For Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, though, a victory on Monday night against his former team meant a bit more.
Adams spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers, a chapter of his career that ended when he was traded to the Raiders in March of 2022.
Las Vegas' game against Green Bay on Monday night was the six-time Pro Bowler's first game against his old club, and fortunately for him, he was able to leave the field with satisfaction as the Raiders defeated the Packers, 17-13, on Monday Night Football.
"It was good," Adams told reporters after the game. "I wish I could have been able to send them off with a few more plays made, but at the end of the day, we beat them. Nobody can make up this crazy narrative and talk about how [I] shouldn't have left and all of the stuff that was getting ready to come if we didn't win it.
"So, I'm glad to get that win off of them today. And we just want to beat everybody, but today was definitely a little bit more sweet."
While Adams wanted the win, it was excellent for the veteran wide receiver to converse with some old teammates he used to share the field with.
"It was good," Adams said. "It was hard not to be friendly with a couple of those guys out there just because I'm so used to being on the same side of the field with them. There was a lot of respect on both sides, so it was good to see them.
"Good to chop it up before and after. And like I said, I'm still glad we beat them, but it was good to see those guys."
Adams finished the game with 45 yards on four receptions.
The Silver and Black will stay home at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next week to play the New England Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
