Raiders' Offense Focused on Aggressiveness, Execution

The Las Vegas Raiders are still searching for answers on offense. For All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, Las Vegas' aggressiveness and execution are vital.

Offense has been the story of the season for the Las Vegas Raiders.

After last week's scoreless performance, even more eyes are on that side of the ball for the Silver and Black. As they prepare to face the Los Angeles Chargers, the Raiders look to move past their most recent showing and get going again on offense.

"I don't know, man," wide receiver Davante Adams said. "It’s just we couldn't really get a rhythm, couldn't establish really anything in the game.

"Once we did, we obviously turned the ball over, and we just didn't make it easy on ourselves. So, that's what you're going to get if you can't convert third down, if you can't have explosive plays, it's going to look like that."

The lack of explosive plays has hindered the Raiders all season and Adams feels explosive plays are critical to any offense.

Explosive plays are even more important against the better defenses in the National Football League, some of which the Raiders recently faced and some they have yet to meet.

"It's critical for most teams, I think, in this league," Adams said. "These defenses are smart; there are a lot of defensive gurus out there who do a lot of different things, exotic coverages, repeating things if you have trouble with it.

"So, I think that's what we dealt with a lot this past game, not being able to figure it out, so they just continued to do things, variations of what was stopping us.

"So, obviously, we have to call more, and we have to throw more, we have to just get more opportunities, and the receivers have to go and make it worthwhile. So, we all learned together. Obviously, it has to start with the call, and then we have to find a way to execute the play."

The Raiders have depended on their defense to get them through this season. As they prepare for another game against an AFC West opponent, the Chargers, Adams and the offense putting the pieces together would be a welcome sight.

The Silver and Black will turn around quickly and host their AFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, on Thursday, December 14, at 8:15 p.m. EST/5:15 p.m. PST.
