Raiders Should Consider Adding to Receiving Unit

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders have a new general manager and a new offensive coordinator, whose visions for the team will likely be different from those of the last couple of seasons.
With GM Tom Telesco and OC Luke Getsy in the fold, and considering how much the Raiders' offense struggled last season, the two will explore all options to improve.
The Raiders had one of the highest-paid offensive rosters in the National Football League this season, yet they were one of the worst rushing teams in the league, ranking 27th in yards per game. They also ranked 27th in passing yards per game.
Entering next season, the Raiders will need all the help they can get on offense. Their offensive line will be one of the main focus areas this offseason, as they have multiple offensive linemen set to hit free agency.
Las Vegas will also prioritize free agent running back Josh Jacobs' contract situation this offseason, as that will significantly impact their plans on offense going into next season.
However, whether they bring Jacobs back or not, the Raiders should consider adding a veteran wide receiver.
Although they already have perhaps the best wide receiver in the league, Davante Adams, and a legitimate compliment to Adams in Jakobi Meyers, the Raiders should consider adding to the group.
The Raiders could help themselves in many ways by adding to their receiving unit. Adding a receiving option to go with Adams, Meyers and Tre Tucker would give the Raiders some insurance should one of those players miss time. It could also make their offense much more versatile and hard to stop.
More importantly, if the Raiders have plenty of receiving options, it would take some of the wear and tear off Jacobs, should he return. Or, should Jacobs leave in free agency, an additional receiving threat and an improved offensive line could help the Raiders turn their offense around.
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
