New Orleans invited the longtime Raiders quarterback, a meeting Las Vegas permitted Carr to participate in.
This will be Carr's first visit with another team.
Last week, the Raiders granted Carr permission to visit with other teams as long as there was an agreement on trade compensation.
New Orleans made such an agreement.
Saints Coach Dennis Allen coached Carr for two-plus seasons with the Raiders in Oakland after Carr was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Feb. 15 is the trigger date for Carr's contract. At that point, $40.4 million of his salary will become fully guaranteed.
Due to his no-trade clause, the Raiders cannot trade Carr until he consents and approves of the destination.
The Raiders' all-time leading passer was benched for the final two games of the 2022 season. It is expected that he and the club will part ways, whether by cut or trade.
In his nine years with the Silver and Black, Carr passed for a total of 35,222 yards and 217 touchdowns, both franchise records by a wide margin.
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The NFL Scouting Combine is Feb. 28-March 6, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. On March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.
March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EDT on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EDT on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.
The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
