AP Could be Next Former Player Turned Successful HC

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders head coaching search was arguably the most polarizing of any team's search for a head coach around the National Football League this offseason.
The Raiders' head coaching position has been one of the most discussed topics in the league since Josh McDaniels was fired midway through the season.
Once Interim Head Coach Antonio Pierce was promoted, he guided the team to a 5-4 record down the stretch, turning around a team that needed many of the things Pierce possesses.
Although Pierce's ability to connect with the players in the locker room was a significant reason for Las Vegas' turnaround later in the season, Pierce's inexperience as a head coach in the National Football League was highlighted regularly, and rightfully so.
It is fair to point out Pierce's inexperience at the job, even after the admirable job he did this season. In that case, it must also be noted exactly how well a few other former players who were once in a similar position to Pierce and the Raiders are now doing as head coaches.
Pierce and the Raiders don't have to look far around the league to see that the goals they have in mind are attainable, regardless of how inexperienced Pierce may be as an NFL head coach.
Last offseason, DeMeco Ryans was a former player named a head coach for the first time. Two seasons ago, Dan Campbell was a former player named a head coach for the first time.
The Houston Texans won a home playoff game this season with a rookie head coach, Ryans, and a rookie quarterback, C.J. Stroud. Campbell and the Detroit Lions are in the NFC Championship Gme after making the playoffs for the first time in 30 years.
Ryans is a former player, now a head coach, with a rookie quarterback who won a playoff game in his first season as a head coach.
Campbell is a former player who now is a head coach with a young and talented team that is one game away from the Super Bowl.
Both are prime examples of how much can change in only a few seasons under a former player who is now the leader of the locker room. Couple that with the job Pierce has already done with this Raiders team, and there is plenty of reason to believe Pierce can do a similar job in Las Vegas and do so soon.
