3 Free Agents the Raiders Could Still Sign

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders were one of the busiest teams during the free agency period in March.
They added 17 new faces to the roster to build a competitive team and return them to the playoffs in 2023.
However, several quality free agents are still available on the market, which the Raiders could sign before training camp.
While the Raiders don’t have the cap space they had before free agency started, they still have enough money to sign capable veterans to short-term deals.
Let’s look at three potential free agents the Raiders could still bring in as they look to finalize their roster at the end of August.
Cornerback Marcus Peters -- There has been chatter about Peters joining the Raiders, but nothing has come close to materializing. If Peters were to join the Silver and Black, he would immediately become one of the best players in the secondary.
While Peters is 30 years old and two years removed from a torn ACL, he still posted formidable numbers in 2022. He recorded 47 total tackles, two tackles for losses, one interception, and six passes defended.
Beyond his solid play, Peters would provide veteran leadership for a young and inexperienced secondary, which goes beyond value on the football field.
Defensive End Jadeveon Clowney -- The former No. 1 overall pick has yet to find a new team and could add immediate run-stopping help to the Raiders’ edge group and some pass-rushing depth.
Clowney has been with the Cleveland Browns for the last two seasons, posting 65 total tackles, 23 quarterback hits, and 11 sacks. The three-time Pro Bowler and Second-Team All-Pro member could be a decent addition to the Raiders in the summer.
Linebacker Zach Cunningham -- The NFL’s leading tackler in 2020, Cunningham still is on the free agent market after a promising start to his career with the Houston Texans, which was not the same since he joined the Tennessee Titans.
Cunningham has posted 620 tackles and six and a half sacks in his career and once was one of the league’s rising stars at the inside linebacker position.
With Divine Deablo and Robert Spillane set as the starting linebackers, Cunningham could come in as quality depth in the front seven.
The Las Vegas Raiders open training camp for the entire team on July 25, 2023.
The Silver and Black open the preseason by hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
