Raiders Hall of Famer Tim Brown Praises DE Maxx Crosby

Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby had himself a career year.

What makes Crosby special, though, is not only his numbers but the work he puts in to be the best player he can be.

A trait like that will always be recognized by the Raider faithful, including those who paved the way long before him.

Raiders legendary wide receiver Tim Brown applauded Crosby's play when he joined the "Raiders Podcast Network" from radio row at Super Bowl LVII on Thursday.

"Look, man, the energy that he puts out -- I usually say something to him after every game, win, lose," Brown said. "I would say something to him on Twitter or whatever, just DM him and say, 'Good job.' Not anything in-depth, but just encouraging him to keep doing what he's doing.

"You would just hope, man, that that energy would spread. Where guys would be like: 'Man, I might not have that talent, but I could give that energy. I can give that effort, man.' Because he is a top-notch effort player, and that's all you ask for, man."

Crosby finished the 2022-23 season with 12.5 sacks, 89 combined tackles, and a league-leading 22 tackles for losses, all of which were career highs.

Crosby's season earned him a second-straight trip to the Pro Bowl.

The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The NFL Scouting Combine is Feb. 28-March 6, 2023, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.

March 13-15 is the free agent negotiation period. Starting at 12 p.m. EDT on March 13 and ending at 3:59:59 p.m. EDT on March 15, clubs are permitted to contact and enter into contract negotiations with the certified agents of players who will become Unrestricted Free Agents upon the expiration of their 2022 Player Contracts at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.

The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season.
