Jimmy G is Excited to Get to Work With Davante Adams

In this story:
Super-Bowl winning quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is getting a fresh start in Las Vegas and comes in with a few benefits at his disposal.
One of those is the fortune of throwing to one of the NFL's most elite receivers, Davante Adams, who enters his second season with the Raiders.
Garoppolo expressed his excitement for teaming up with the fellow 2014 draft class member when he joined "Upon Further Review With Eddie Paskal" last month.
"I'm excited, man," Garoppolo said. "Me and Tae [Adams] met each other during the combine process and draft process, so we go way back. But yeah, we were texting the other day, I'm just, I'm so excited, man. He's a receiver who is just different, man. He can do a little bit of everything, and it's not like it's just one skill-set he's good at. He's good at just about everything. And as a quarterback, you just love that stuff."
Garoppolo gave his personal explanation as to why Adams is so successful on the gridiron.
"I think as a DB, you usually try to find the weakness in a receiver, whoever you're guarding," the veteran quarterback said. "[When] a guy doesn't have a weakness, I mean that's really tough to -- how are you going to guard him? I mean, you've got help over the top, you've got help inside, outside, you've really have to pick your spots with him if you're going to play man coverage on him. And then zone, I think, just having seen him in the past, he has a great feel for zone, sitting down and things like that. And I'm just excited, man. As a quarterback, that makes your life so much easier."
Adams finished the 2022 season third in the league in receiving yards with 1,516, while leading the league with 14 touchdown receptions.
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period began at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.
The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this offseason.
