Raiders' Offense Does Just Enough to Win on MNF

The Las Vegas Raiders' offense has been the biggest issue for the team so far this season. Although the Raiders have the pieces to be successful, Las Vegas' offense has yet to live up to expectations.

Entering Monday night's game against the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas' offense was one of the worst in the league regarding turnovers. The turnovers single-handedly cost the Raiders multiple games and kept their offense out of sync.

While the offense is still a work in progress, the Raiders cut down on the turnovers, only committing one on Monday night against the Packers. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo managed the game relatively well, minus one ill-advised throw that was intercepted.

Coach Josh McDaniels did a great job of opening up the playbook and getting many different players involved, which undoubtedly helped keep the Packers' defense off balance.

Garoppolo completed passes to seven receivers, finishing with an 86.5 quarterback rating. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers led the Raiders in receiving with seven catches for 75 yards, and Josh Jacobs had his best game of the season with 69 yards rushing on 20 carries.

Even better was that players such as wide receiver Hunter Renfrow and tight end Michael Mayer were implemented in the game plan.

Las Vegas finally made it a point to get Mayer involved in the game and did so early. Mayer had the best game of his young career, finishing with two catches for 39 yards. Renfrow had one catch for seven yards.

That may not seem like much, but between the yardage and forcing the Packers' defense to have to cover more than wide receivers Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, it did wonders for the Raiders' offense.

The Raiders didn't light up the scoreboard or rack up a ton of yards on offense by any means.

However, what did happen was that the Raiders proved they are built to win games and can do so if their offense takes care of the ball and at least attempts to use all of the talent on one of the most expensive offenses in the league.

The Raiders are getting almost all they can from their defense, and Monday night seemed to be the first time they made it a point to play well enough on offense to complement their defense.

Garoppolo would finish the game with 208 yards through the air, one touchdown, and one interception. Most importantly, Garoppolo and the offense would leave with the most crucial stat: a win.

The Silver and Black will stay home at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next week to play the New England Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
