The good news is the Las Vegas Raiders will have their starting quarterback on Monday night against the Detroit Lions. The not-so-good information is he is returning to a team sorely in need of his guidance and experience.

His teammates also need their quarterback to play better than he has this season. Garoppolo is focused on the process.

"There's never one thing that's like, 'Hey, if we fix this, we'll be good.' Everyone wants it to be like that -- be a quick fix," Garoppolo said. "That kind of world we live in now, but it's not like that. It's a process, you have to assess different things, players have to play better, coaches have to coach better."

"I mean, it's all of us. So, it's just we're in it together. We have a good group of guys in there, a tight-knit group. Guys came to work today and came with the right mindset; it was pretty cool."

Garoppolo has previous experience on teams that had similar starts to their season as this Raiders team.

"I mean, I've been on a couple of different ones. It's not always the exact same. I think like I just said, it starts with the guys in that locker room," Garoppolo said.

"I mean, when we could all come in and speak the same language, see the same picture, really be on the same page with one another, that's when you can really start taking things to the next level."

"And just in my little experience in the NFL, I mean that's what it takes. You have to be in it together, you have to be pulling for the guy next to you. You can't be doing it for different reasons."

Garoppolo feels the Silver and Black have the right guys in the locker room to turn the season around.

"I think we have a good group and guys are learning that about each other. This team hasn't been together forever, but we have to learn quick and come together."

Part of the reason Garoppolo was brought in was because of his ability to lead a locker room not just on the field but off the field as well. As Las Vegas nears the halfway mark of the season, Garoppolo's ability to rally a team will become even more important.

The Silver and Black will stay on the road to take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night, Oct. 30, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
