Raiders Garoppolo Eager to Return to NFL Action

Las Vegas Raiders Jimmy Garoppolo has waited nearly 10 months to get back on the field and he is ready to go.

Jimmy Garoppolo joined the Las Vegas Raiders after six seasons in San Francisco. While with the 49ers, Garopplo had a 39-18 record, including an NFC Championship Game victory and Super Bowl appearance. 

The veteran quarterback is only days away from playing for the first time since December of 2022. He's looking forward to playing with the best wide receiver in the National Football League, Davante Adams. 

Without a doubt, Adams is the best wide receiver Garoppolo has ever shared the field with in the NFL. While there is still work to be done, the new Raiders quarterback feels good about where the duo is. 

"It's going to be fun, man," Garoppolo said. "I've been waiting a long time for it. Feel like we're still working on some things, but very confident with where we're at. Tae is a dog out there, bro. It's fun having a guy like that.

"You've just got to put it up there and give him a chance really, let it touch his hands, and he'll take care of the rest. So, he's making my job a lot easier."

Garoppolo says this offseason was different than years past, not only because he joined a new team, but he did so while recovering from a foot injury, neither of which stopped him from improving his connection with his receivers.

"Well, I mean, it was a little different with the foot this offseason and getting that right," Garoppolo said. "Just getting back into the right feel and things like that. But yeah, I mean, you're always trying to improve things, little details here and there, a certain route with a guy, timing on a route."

"There was a lot of that this offseason just being in a new offense and everything. But I feel like we're in a good spot. We're still working, but we're in a good spot."

Garoppolo's signing was the most significant offseason move for Las Vegas. Time will tell if signing Jimmy G was only one of the most significant moves of the Raiders' offseason or if it was also one of the most significant moves in franchise history. 

The Silver and Black open the regular season at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4:25 p.m. EDT/1:25 p.m. PDT.
