In this story:

The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the most talented offensive rosters in the National Football League.

On the other hand, there is only one football to go around to Las Vegas' many options on offense. Spreading the football around has become one of the persisting issues for the Raiders this season.

After nearly 30 touches against the New York Giants and the New York Jets, running back Josh Jacobs finished last week's game against the Miami Dolphins with roughly half of that amount.

That led to one of Jacobs' worst outings of the season, as he finished with a total of 51 yards.

Last week, Jacobs mentioned he felt he needed at least 20 touches per game for the Raiders' offense to be as successful as possible. The Raiders got Jacobs the ball nearly 15 times in the first half alone against the Chiefs.

Jacobs would finish the game with 20 carries for 110 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown run that put the Raiders ahead, 14-0, early in the game. He would add four catches for 15 yards.

Although they lost the game, Jacobs' production was a large part of the reason the Raiders were threatening to run away with the game early.

Jacobs said the Raiders were prepared for the Chiefs' defensive game plan.

"We knew what they were going to do when we came out; we were running outside zone," Jacobs said. "You've got to stop the outside zone. We had an adjustment to their adjustments, but it just didn't work that way.

"I feel like we started fast. We started how we wanted to, but we just didn't sustain it toward the end."

The Raiders enter their bye week and Jacobs says the time away comes at a good time.

"It's been a long time for a lot of these guys that have been in this building," Jacobs said. "Just being able to get your body right and be fresh and things like that. For me, personally, I feel good."

The Raiders have gone through more in 12 weeks than many teams go through in an entire season. As they head into their bye week, Las Vegas has the chance to gather itself mentally and physically before the final five games of the regular season.

The Silver and Black will return home to Allegiant Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 10, at 4:05 p.m. EST/1:05 p.m. PST.
