Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs continues to build on his legacy as a member of the Silver and Black.

Heading into the Raiders' Week 6 game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jacobs needed only 25 rushing yards to reach 5,000 for his career, a milestone only three other players have ever done in a Raiders uniform.

The fifth-year Raider would do just that, as Jacobs finished with 77 rushing yards in Las Vegas' 21-17 victory.

Jacobs joined two-time Pro Bowler Clem Daniels (5,103), two-time Super Bowl champion Mark van Eeghen (5,907) and Hall of Famer Marcus Allen (8,545) as the only Raiders to rush for 5,000 yards.

"I didn't even know about it until like five minutes before the game," Jacobs told media members after the game. "They had told me what I needed. I think it's cool, man. Obviously, we're going to see how it goes, but I think it's a good stat to have, for sure."

Daniels was a member of the Oakland Raiders who fell to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl II. He was a Raider for seven seasons, having been traded to the club in its second season as a franchise.

Van Eeghen was the Raiders' leading edge rusher in their 1976 and 1980 Super Bowl seasons. He finished second in the NFL in rushing  in 1977, trailing only MVP Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears.

Van Eeghen was selected by Oakland in the third round of the 1974 NFL Draft out of Colgate.

Allen, of course, went down as one of the greatest Raiders of all time, finishing his career as the franchise's all-time leading rusher, the 1985 NFL most valuable player and Offensive Player of the Year, and the Super Bowl XVIII MVP.

Jacobs led the league in rushing last season, becoming the first Raider since Allen in 1985 to do so.

The Silver and Black will head on the road to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 1:05 p.m. EDT/10:05 a.m. PDT.
