Raiders' Young Pro Bowlers Have Joined Elite Company

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs and defensive end Maxx Crosby are among the best at their positions at 25.

The Las Vegas Raiders have a solid balance of veterans and youth on their roster, an ideal recipe for any team looking to have success.

Except for All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, the club's young stars, though, are trending toward Hall-of-Fame status by the time it's all said and done.

Raiders All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs and Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby are each only 25 years old and have already been mentioned in the same company as some of the greatest ever to play the game.

Jacobs, who attained the rushing title last season in only his fourth year in the NFL, is top-10 all-time among most rushing yards by a player younger than 25, according to StatMuse. Jacobs turned 25 on Feb. 11.

Ahead of him are Clinton Poris (5,930), Emmitt Smith (5,699), Barry Sanders (5,674), Ezekiel Elliott (5,405), Walter Payton (5,316), Edgerrin James (4,913) and Jamal Lewis (4,757).

Jacobs has 4,740.

The Raiders running back also is 12th all-time in scrimmage yards by a player younger than 25. He has 5,892.

Jacobs has also scored 40 rushing touchdowns so far in his NFL career.

Per StatMuse, Crosby is top-10 all-time in tackles for losses by a player 25 years old or younger.

At No. 1 is J.J. Watt, leading the rest of the pack by a mile with 103. Next is Von Miller (72), followed by Joey Bosa (68), Lavonte David (68), Danielle Hunter (67), and Terrell Suggs (66).

Crosby has 65 and led the league last season with 22.

The star edge rusher has posted 231 combined tackles, 37.5 sacks, 16 passes defensed, and seven forced fumbles through his first four years in the league.

Jacobs and Crosby were both selected by the Raiders in the 2019 NFL Draft, with the former having gone in the first round (24th overall) and the latter having gone in the fourth round (106th overall).

They have each been selected for two Pro Bowls so far—a respected accomplishment, but certainly not the end of the journey.
