Josh Jacobs Dominated on Man/Gap Runs in 2022-23

In this story:
Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs was arguably the best at his position in the 2022-23 season after attaining the rushing title and leading the NFL in rushing yards per game (97.2).
But there was one area in particular that Jacobs thrived in last season, more so than any other running back in the league.
Amelia Probst of Pro Football Focus listed the top rushing grades on various run situations from the 2022 season in an article posted Wednesday.
The categories were zone run, man/gap runs, late-down runs, and red zone runs (minimum of 50 attempts for zone and man/gap and 25 for late-down and red zone).
Jacobs was No. 1 in man/gap rushing with a 91.3 rushing grade in that area.
Here's what Probst wrote regarding Jacobs and the Raiders:
"The Las Vegas Raiders produced the highest rushing grade (91.1) but ranked seventh in EPA [expected points added] per play (0.054) on gap runs, which include man-blocking, power, counter, draw and trap concepts.
"Raiders back Josh Jacobs ran for 1,102 yards on these plays, 414 yards more than the next closest back. He turned 220 attempts into 737 yards after contact, nine touchdowns and 54 first downs. He forced 58 missed tackles in the process."
Behind Jacobs in the category were Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (90.2 rushing grade), Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (90.1), Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (87.5), New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (86.8), Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry (84.9), New Orleans Saints running back Taysom Hill (84.4), Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (84.2), Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. (83.7), and Saints running back Alvin Kamara (82.4).
Jacobs also had the fourth-highest rushing grade on zone runs with an 83.8. He totaled 426 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in that category last season.
Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier led in that area with a 88.0 rushing grade. He was also No. 1 in late-down runs with a 90.7 rushing grade, while Ekeler led red-zone runs with an 84.0 rushing grade.
