McDaniels is Confident System Can Adapt to Any Style of QB

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders have been accustomed to a pocket-passer in their nine seasons with quarterback Derek Carr behind center.
The club got a glimpse of what a more mobile quarterback can look like for them when Jarrett Stidham started the final two games of the regular season, but for the most part, they haven't had to adapt often.
Raiders Coach Josh McDaniels is all too familiar with quarterback changes and the modification that entails, a process he experienced in his final years as offensive coordinator the New England Patriots.
"I think the last four years have really been healthy for me," McDaniels said at the NFL Combine on Tuesday. "You know, I went from Tom [Brady] in '19, to Cam [Newton] in 2020, Mac [Jones] in 2021, to Derek in 2022. So you know, none of those guys are the same, really. And so, I think just being able to shift and focus on the things that are their strengths, I think that's really important for us. But our system's going to fit the player. You know, it's not a one -- they don't have to just be a specific set of traits. If they have talents that we can use in other ways, then we're going to use them."
The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. On March 7, 2023, before 4 p.m. EST, is the club's deadline to designate Franchise or Transition Players.

The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period begins at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15. The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this season. Please tell us your thoughts when you like our Facebook Page WHEN YOU CLICK RIGHT HERE.
