Las Vegas Raiders running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu has coached at all different levels for 30 years.

Polamalu has seen talent all along the age spectrum, which has fittingly prepared him with the task of coaching a diverse room of running backs when it comes to experience.

Of Polamalu's group, the player with perhaps the most upside is Las Vegas' 122nd-overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, Zamir White.

"The young man's here; he's learning a new playbook, a new environment," Polamalu said following the team's Thursday practice. "He's here, determined. We liked his physicality on film, and we had the opportunity to bring him here on our 30 visit and got to know him. I think that really helped. But he's a solid young man. [He's] humble, a hard worker and fits the room well."

Brandon Bolden, whom the Silver and Black acquired in free agency in March, is on the other side of the spectrum. Bolden enters his 10th NFL season but will be playing a different role than most veterans are accustomed to.

Polamalu admires the veteran's unselfish sacrifice to accept a position as primarily a special teams asset.

"That's impressive," Polamalu said. "Usually when you're coaching a nine-, 10-year vet, he's pretty much the main guy. This young man, he comes to work, [he's] smart, tough and he's unselfish."

At this point, depending on how the rest of the off-season plays out, Las Vegas' starting running back should continue to be Josh Jacobs, who falls somewhat in the middle of the pack in regards to experience, as he enters his fourth NFL season.

Polamalu knew of Jacobs' abilities dating to when the young running back was playing at Alabama.

"What I was impressed with was, when he came out, he was on special teams at Alabama -- kind of like going back to Brandon [Bolden] -- showing that unselfishness and hard working and how he enjoyed football. And he's still that way," Polamalu said.

Overall, the longtime coach has enjoyed what he's seen from his room so far this off-season.

"Good guys," Polamalu said. "They show up, they're here helping each other out with the playbook and everything else about life, and not only on the field but off the field. Good group."
