Raiders Who Have Gone to the Super Bowl: Marcus Epps

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders made a big move this offseason when they signed veteran safety Marcus Epps.
As much as Epps has to offer to the Raiders' secondary with his talent on the field, one of the most promising facts about the veteran is that he is just coming off a Super Bowl appearance with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Epps spent three-plus seasons of his NFL career in Philadelphia, who signed him his rookie season after he was waived by the Minnesota Vikings.
He played in his first playoff game in just his second season when the Eagles faced the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card round. They ultimately lost, 17-9.
Two seasons later, Epps was back in the postseason, but once again, he and Philadelphia would fall in the Wild Card round, this time to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-15.
Then came last season, when the Eagles would finally get over the hump since winning their last Super Bowl in 2017-18.
Epps' role was crucial with the 2022-23 Eagles, especially when it mattered most in their three postseason games.
In those games, Epps recorded 13 combined tackles, having started in all three contests.
In Super Bowl LVII, the safety would post six combined tackles (four solo, two assisted) as Philadelphia fell, 38-35, to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Perhaps going forward, Epps will share the same disdain for the Chiefs as his new team does.
In that 2022-23 season, Epps had his best campaign yet, finishing the regular season with a career-high 94 combined tackles (four for losses), six passes defensed, and a forced fumble. He started in all of the Eagles' 17 games.
Epps was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Wyoming.
Since then, he has registered 209 combined tackles, four for losses, 15 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and three interceptions in the first four years of his NFL career.
The 27-year-old defensive back was signed by the Raiders to a two-year, $12-million contract back in March.
