Crosby Led the NFL in Very Impressive Stat Last Season

In this story:
Regarding defense, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is probably one of the most underrated players in the NFL.
While Crosby has been named to back-to-back Pro Bowls, the star edge rusher has yet to make an All-Pro team and, last season, was snubbed of both first- and second-team honors despite having a career campaign.
Crosby led the league in tackles for losses with 22 last season while finishing with a career-best 12.5 sacks and 89 combined tackles.
While Crosby has yet to reach the sack numbers that elite pass rushers Nick Bosa and Myles Garrett have, he stands in a league of his own when looking deeper into the stats.
NFL Next Gen Stats revealed in a tweet on Thursday that Crosby made 69 defensive stops as an edge rusher last season, the most since the 2016 campaign.
Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack posted the second most (64) during the 2017 season when he was with the Raiders. He also has the fourth most (56) from the 2016 season, trailing Buffalo Bills (Denver Broncos at the time) linebacker Von Miller, who notched 58.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marcus Lawrence is fifth with 55 from the 2018-19 season.
Next Gen Stats defines a defensive stop as "a tackle which results in a successful play for the defense (negative EPA)."
Maxx Crosby generated 69 defensive stops aligned at EDGE in 2022, the most in a season since 2016.
