Raiders Face Jets DE Bryce Huff in Breakout Season

The Las Vegas Raiders will face New York Jets defensive end Bryce Huff, who has broken out and become an impactful player this season.

The Las Vegas Raiders will face a tough New York Jets defense at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for a Sunday Night Football game.

The Jets have allowed only 19.5 points per game this season, the eighth-best mark in the NFL. They have remained competitive in the AFC race because of their performance on that side of the ball.

Coach Robert Saleh and his defensive staff have done an excellent job building their defense to become one of the best units in the league. His ability to develop players has done wonders for them, as well.

One of the players Saleh has developed is defensive end Bryce Huff, who has become one of the most impactful players on a Jets defense with many top-tier players.

In his fourth season in the league, Huff has already surpassed his career-highs in total tackles with 17, tackles for losses with five, quarterback hits with 13 and sacks with five. He has done this all while being a rotational edge rusher.

Huff’s ability to be impactful without playing starter snaps has impacted the Jets. According to Pro Football Focus, Huff has played only 203 snaps this season but has 44 total pressures.

Huff was not selected in the 2020 NFL Draft and caught on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in his rookie season, making an immediate impact. He has become an essential piece of their defense, as he has 53 total tackles, 12 tackles for losses, 35 quarterback hits and 12.5 sacks.

Huff is a well-built defensive end at 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds. The 25-year-old Mobile, Ala., native beats offensive tackles with great athleticism and long strides to the quarterback. He has solid hands and quick feet that allow him to win his pass rushing match-ups.

Despite the Jets having many impactful edge rushers, Huff has found a way to stand out. He is having a breakout season in 2023, even though he is not a starter.

The Raiders must ensure No. 47 is circled on their game plan because he has been incredibly impactful off the edge this season. The Raiders must find ways to slow Huff down, or he will continue to dominate off the edge.

The Silver and Black will remain at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to take on the New York Jets on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 8:20 p.m. EST/5:20 p.m. PST.
