Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh on Raiders DE Maxx Crosby

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders are still preparing for their Week 10 game against the New York Jets in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
This will be Jets Coach Robert Saleh's first head coaching against the Silver and Black. This season is Selah's third season with the Jets, and he has a head coaching record of 15-27.
Saleh had the chance to speak with the media on Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. He shared a story about how he has known Crosby since the 2019 NFL Combine and spoke highly of him as a player.
"Oh, man," Saleh said. "I have a funny story to tell you guys on him. He’s unbelievable, and it's really, really cool to see the type of career he’s had. Shoot, I’ll just tell you guys really quick. In the combine visits, he comes in, and I’m a stickler, we want to show tape, just see what the kid knows, really not in the school of: ‘Hey, let’s make it uncomfortable for him and see how he responds.’ Our D-line coach in San Francisco (Kris Kocurek), God bless him; he’s one of the better D-line coaches in football. He’s doing a great job through the interviews, and then Maxx Crosby comes in, and they’re going through it, and finally Kocurek throws the tape down, and he’s like: ‘Why’d you come out?’ And he just starts tearing into him: ‘You shouldn’t have come out.’ We’re all upset because we’re excited about this kid. Now Maxx has become who he is and it’s like: ‘Good job there, buddy, really hit on that one.
"Kocurek is one of the better evaluators in ball as a D-line coach, but I'm really happy for Maxx and he represents everything you want out of a football player. He’s got violence, he’s got speed, he strains, his effort is off the charts, his football IQ is off the charts, and to be honest with you, the way he answered the question in that combine interview that day, no doubt looking back at it there’s a reason why he’s successful. He wasn’t fazed, he basically said: ‘Because I can.’ And, he is. So, good for him."
Crosby is coming off the best season game for the Silver and Black defense. He had eight tackles and three sacks in the victory over the New York Giants. Crosby looks to continue to be a factor on the Raiders' defense as they go against the Jets on Sunday night.
The Silver and Black will remain at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to take on the New York Jets on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 8:20 p.m. EST/5:20 p.m. PST.
