Three Important Raiders vs. Jets

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to win a second straight game as they host the New York Jets at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday Night Football.
The Jets are a hard-nosed, aggressive team, playing to the culture built by Coach Robert Saleh, which has kept them competitive this season.
The Raiders have found new life under Interim Coach Antonio Pierce. The offense and defense turned in elite performances last week in his first game in charge.
The Raiders are trying to remain competitive in the AFC playoff picture and will need to win tonight.
With that, let’s look at three players who will be vital in picking up a victory against the Jets.
Offensive tackle Thayer Munford -- After a full practice on Friday, Munford is good to go for the game following an injury.
With left tackle Kolton Miller doubtful, Munford might see time in his spot. This means Munford will protect rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell’s blind side. This will be crucial against a Jets’ defensive line that has been dominant this season.
Munford will face defensive ends Bryce Huff and Jermaine Johnson II, both game wreckers off the edge this season. With no Miller, Munford becomes much more critical.
Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers-O’Connell will need a reliable target he can go to, and that’s where Meyers comes in.
Meyers was a favorite target of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and his play style is a perfect fit for O’Connell. He will need to be reliable, as he usually is, against a Jets’ secondary that features several excellent players.
With all the attention being on All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams this season, Meyers has thrived as a secondary option. If he and O’Connell can be on the same page, the Raiders will have a good chance to move the ball against the Jets.
Running back Zamir White -- Josh Jacobs will see a heavy workload again, but White will need to be effective when Jacobs is not in the game.
White has not gotten going this season, with onlyt 16 carries for 41 yards. The Raiders need more production out of him behind Jacobs and might get that against a Jets’ defense that has allowed the third-most rushing yards in the league this season.
White has the opportunity to have a good game as the secondary back, and the Raiders need it if they want to get the ground game going.
The Silver and Black will remain at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to take on the New York Jets on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 8:20 p.m. EST/5:20 p.m. PST.
