Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: Antonio Johnson, DB, Texas A&M

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders have barely more than two weeks until the 2023 NFL Draft, as they are beginning to narrow down prospects they might want to select with their 12 draft picks.
The Raiders have spent money to address the secondary in free agency, but could find some long-term answers through the draft. One player they could consider on day two is Texas A&M safety Antonio Johnson.
Johnson is a large, physical safety with great football IQ. Let’s take a closer look at him and see if he would be a good selection for General Manager Dave Ziegler and company.
Johnson posted 71 total tackles, five tackles for losses, and even had one sack with the Aggies last season and was named First-Team All-SEC. In his career, he totaled 164 tackles, 14 tackles for losses, two sacks, and one interception.
Johnson stands at 6-3 and weighs 200 pounds, giving him the ideal physical tools to be an NFL safety. He plays a physical style of football, being able to stop the run and match up with tight ends over the middle.
One concern with Johnson’s game is he is not the greatest defensive back in coverage, as he tends to be overaggressive in his pursuit of the ball and is not as technically proficient as he probably should be.
Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham could use Johnson all over the field in different situations. If he is available in the second or third round, the Raiders might strongly consider adding him to their defense.
