The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday in their second preseason game, 34-17.

The Raiders once again looked composed and in control of the game on both sides of the ball. This was also the first game that Raiders fans had the opportunity to see the starters in action, and they were rewarded with a scoring drive.

That drive might have been a preview of what Raiders fans can expect from the team this season, but the rest of the game was a chance for the team’s backups and players fighting for roster spots to earn their keep.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three Raiders who shined in their second straight preseason victory.

Tight End Michael Mayer -- While Mayer only had one reception for three yards on two targets, he showed off more than that on tape.

Mayer lined up all over the field, even out wide against a defensive back. Mayer was consistently getting open on the passing snaps he played, whether he was in line or in the slot. He also was impressive as a blocker, showing off the all-around skills that made him such a coveted tight end prospect.

Mayer’s skill set should excite Raiders fans, as he should be a dynamic weapon for the offense.

Wide Receiver DeAndre Carter -- Carter showed why the Raiders could have an explosive kick and punt return game this season.

Carter took the opening kickoff 30 yards to give the Raiders good starting field position, and returned a punt from inside his own 20 to near midfield, narrowly stepping out of bounds on what was nearly a touchdown.

In addition, Carter added a catch for nine yards. He is part of a deep wide receiver room, and showed his value on special teams.

Defensive Lineman David Agoha -- Agoha is a native of Nigeria who joined the Raiders by way of the International Player Pathway Program, and he recorded his first-ever sack on Brett Rypien in the fourth quarter.

Agoha was fired up after the sack, as were his teammates. While the game was already in hand at that point, it was still an exciting moment for Agoha and something he will never forget.
