The Las Vegas Raiders kick off their preseason with a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.

San Francisco hosted the Raiders for a preseason game two years ago when the 49ers bested Las Vegas, 34-10.

The two team's most recent meeting was in Week 17 of last season, when the Raiders forced overtime against the eventual NFC runner-up.

They were led by former Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who made his first career start.

Las Vegas went a perfect 4-0 in last year's preseason, only to go 6-11 in the regular season, missing out on the postseason after ending their four-year playoff drought the year before.

Sunday's game will also serve as a reunion for new Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who played the last six seasons with the 49ers.

Whether the veteran quarterback takes the field or not is yet to be determined.

Garoppolo has not played in an NFL contest of any form since Week 13 of last season when he went down with a season-ending broken-foot injury.
