Raiders Jimmy Garoppolo as an X-Factor

One of the most significant changes the Las Vegas Raiders made this offseason was at the quarterback position. The Raiders decided to step away from the Derek Carr era and have a new beginning at the quarterback position.

The Raiders signed a veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason to be the new starting quarterback in Las Vegas.

In a recent Pro Football Focus article, the website ranked their early 2023 roster rankings. The website breaks down each team's strengths, weaknesses, rookies to watch, etc.

Pro Football Focus also lists potential X-Factors for each NFL team's roster. The website listed Garappolo as a potential X-Factor for the Raiders roster this upcoming NFL season.

Garoppolo is entering his 10th season as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He spent quality seasons with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

Pro Football Focus states that Garoppolo can lead teams to playoff runs and even Super Bowl runs with a strong supporting cast.

Garoppolo has a strong supporting cast, with him entering his first season with the Silver and Black. He is reunited with head coach Josh McDaniels, and the two spent quality seasons together with the Patriots.

Jimmy Garoppolo has a ton of options for who to throw the ball to as well this season. He has Josh Jacobs, the 2022-23 NFL rushing leader in the backfield, and Davante Adams, the Raiders wide receiver who has proven to be one of the best in the league. Jakobi Meyers and Hunter Renfrow are two other solid options for him, along with Austin Hooper and rookie Michael Mayer in the tight end room.

In his nine-year NFL career, Garoppolo has passed for a total of 14,289 yards and 84 touchdowns.

It will be unique to see if Garoppolo can truly be an X-Factor in his first season with the Silver and Black this 2023-24 NFL Season.
