Raiders Under Contract: DT Marquan McCall

In this story:
Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Marquan McCall was one of two defensive tackles the team signed to reserve/future contracts last month.
The Raiders added McCall to their practice squad in December, nearly four months since he had been on an NFL roster.
The 24-year-old defensive tackle was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky in 2022. He played 16 games in his rookie season, totaling 15 combined tackles, two for losses, and a quarterback hit.
McCall was waived during 2023 training camp and was claimed on waivers by the New England Patriots the next day. However, he was waived the following day because he failed his physical.
The 6-foot-3, 345-pound defensive tackle is on a one-year contract worth $915,000.
McCall has some competition ahead of him on the Raiders' defensive line, but he has shown in his young career that he has the potential to be a valuable, at the least as a practice squad player.
McCall played four seasons at Kentucky in 40 games, including 11 starts, eight of which were in his senior season. He unfortunately missed four games that year due to a lower extremity injury, but that did not keep him from forgoing his final season of eligibility.
That 2021 season, McCall and Kentucky finished with a 10-3 record. The Wildcats defeated Iowa, the 2021 Big Ten title runner up, 20-17 in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
McCall ended his college career with 57 combined tackles, 10 for losses, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defensed.
From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
