Two Raider Rookies Continue to Shine

The Las Vegas Raiders have been having a phenomenal 2023 NFL preseason so far.

The Raiders are 2-0, having wins over the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams during the preseason, and look to finish the 2023 preseason with an undefeated record.

Two rookies on the Raiders offense have shown their skills throughout the preseason. Those two rookies are third-round draft pick Tre Tucker and fourth-round draft pick Aidan O'Connell.

O'Connell has been looking like one of the better rookie quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his second preseason game, he finished with 11 completed passes on 18 attempts for 163 yards. He also threw two touchdown passes in the red zone. One touchdown pass to third-year wide receiver Christian Wilkerson and another to third-year wide receiver Cam Simms.

O'Connell looks like the accurate quarterback he was when he played his college ball at Purdue. He has been showing it so far, this time with the Raiders during the preseason.

Another Raiders 2023 rookie draft pick playing well for the Raiders is wide receiver Tre Tucker, the third-round draft pick out of the University of Cincinnati.

In his second preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, the rookie wide receiver showed his potential as steal in this year's NFL Draft. He finished the game with three receptions for 66 yards, including a spectacular diving catch. He also has been showing off his breakneck speed, which he might be the fastest of any receiver in the Raiders' expansive receiver room. He also showed off his speed on special teams, including a 14-yard kick return and a 31-yard punt return against the Rams.

With only one Raiders preseason game left on the schedule, these two rookies should continue to shine and perform well as they prepare for the start of the 2023-24 NFL season.
