Raiders Must Decide How to Add to QB Position

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders have moved forward with Antonio Pierce as their head coach.
Las Vegas also will look to retain Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham, and then they will need to find an adequate offensive coordinator.
Once those two things are taken care of, one of the first positions the Raiders will focus on improving probably will be their quarterback position.
However, the Raiders must first choose which method to add to the position as there are various quality quarterback options in both the NFL Draft and in free agency, and there are even a couple of quarterbacks the Raiders could trade for if the price was right.
Las Vegas has the 13th overall pick in this year's draft and could use that on a quarterback like Bo Nix from Oregon, who should still be available when the Raiders select.
If the Raiders decide to use their first-round pick for a different position, they could always use free agency to bring in an experienced quarterback.
The Raiders could bring in a veteran quarterback like Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos to compete for their starting quarterback position.
However, Las Vegas could possibly have some hesitation with bringing in an aging veteran quarterback after an unsuccessful attempt at doing so last season with Jimmy Garopolo.
More than a few teams have been named as potential trade partners with the Raiders, most notably the Chicago Bears, who hold the first overall pick in this year's draft and may be open to trading quarterback Justin Fields.
On the flip side, much like General Manager Tom Telesco's experience will help negate the learning curve of Head Coach Antonio Pierce, the Raiders bringing in a veteran quarterback who can help them on the field would be wise. Especially if that veteran quarterback was able to help develop O'Connell even more.
Until the Raiders decide on an offensive coordinator, it will be anyone's guess what they decide to do at the quarterback position. The Raiders will have to choose wisely how to improve their quarterback room heading into next season.
