Crosby Sees Similarities for Raiders in Lions Rise

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders finished the 2023-24 season strong under Interim Coach Antonio Pierce.
Several players have made it well-known that they want Pierce to become the full-time head coach of the Silver and Black, despite the league-wide demand for him.
Defensive end Maxx Crosby has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Pierce, and he believes it would be a mistake for the Raiders if they do not hire him.
In fact, Crosby believes the Raiders could have a Detroit Lions-like ascension if Pierce takes over the reins in a permanent role.
The Lions bought into the culture Coach Dan Campbell created, finishing the 2022 season strong and winning the NFC North in 2023.
Crosby explained the similarities he believes could arise if Pierce is hired full-time on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush with Maxx Crosby."
“It almost feels like how Detroit felt last year,” Crosby said. “They missed the playoffs by a sliver, but everyone knew going into that offseason, they’re like: ‘Yeah, Dan Campbell’s got these guys going in the right direction, and they’re going to be favored to win the division next year.' We keep AP, and we build on what we already started, I feel like that’s going to be us. We’re going to be ranked potentially to be in the playoffs next year without a doubt if we keep things going the way it’s going.
“But, if we blow s— up again, then it’s a bunch of question marks, and we start from ground zero again, and I have to start questioning what we’re doing. I want to win. I’m sick of losing. I’m sick of being in limbo all the time. There’s always change, there’s always something new, and for me, I show up every single day. I’m in the building more than any coach or player on a yearly basis. I’m showing up every day doing my best and doing everything in my power to help this team win, so I want everybody from the front office to the coaches to feel that same f—ing way.”
Crosby believes the Raiders can build something special under Pierce, but if they decide to go in another direction, he has stated that all options are on the table.
