Tre'von Moehrig Looking to Turn the Corner in Year 3

In this story:
Safety Tre'von Moehrig was a highly-anticipated prospect when the Las Vegas Raiders drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and for the most part, he's lived up to the expectations.
In each of his first two NFL seasons, Moehrig registered 55 combined tackles, having started all 17 games of his rookie campaign before playing only 15 games last season due to injury.
With two years under his belt, Moehrig wants to reach new heights, which has started with his will to become a better game student.
"[My focus has been on] really, just coming out every day in practice, coming in the film room every day just trying to learn something," Moehrig said in his press conference on Tuesday. "Pick up something every day, whether it's something small, a small detail. But really every year it's just going to be getting better in every aspect of the game."
Moehrig has made a point to show up every day, whether mandatory or not.
"Whatever the coaches asked of me to do, whatever the drills were, I just focused on the details," Moehrig said. "Try to be technically sound. Just trying to practice my technique, just like every other position, trying to just get better every offseason."
The effort has also been made off the field, as Moehrig has studied more film than in the past.
"[O]ver the years, like I said, just my third year just picking up more film," he said. "Just learning more concepts, just learning more football. Being able to turn on that film and pinpoint some stuff that didn't know last year or the year before, it was a big deal. So, definitely watching more film."
As far as things are going as a group, Moehrig said the chemistry is already being built within the Raiders' new-look defense.
"It's been fun," Moehrig said. "Coming out every day with the guys, it's been fun. It's business, we're coming here to work, but we’re also finding time to make relationships. Find time outside of football to, like I said, build relationships, build bonds, so when we step on that field, we're ready to go to war for our brothers. It feels good."
