In this story:

HENDERSON, Nev.--The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the most passionate fan bases in the world of professional sports, and today we answer some of the questions and emails from Raider Nation.

Uncle Hondo, my man, I love what you do. A long time ago, you wrote an article about Jon Gruden and how his lawsuit was going to have a major impact on the NFL. Others are now reporting it, but I want to put some respect on your name. How do you think this ends? --C. Morrice

Thank you for that respect. We did first report that on May 31, 2022, more than one year ago. You can read that article when you click right here. I believe it will end with Roger Goodell losing his job.

Hondo, do you happen to know the date that the Raiders have to strike a long-term deal with Josh Jacobs? --Kyle D.

July 17 is the deadline for a long-term deal.

Hondo, you have been adamant that you do think the odds are not in favor of the Raiders getting a long-term deal done with Josh Jacobs. With the deadline coming fast, do you still think they don’t get a long-term deal? --Steve H.

I do not think they will get a long-term deal, but it could happen.

Hondo, do you see a scenario in which the Raiders would trade Josh Jacobs? I really love your work. --Michael Y.

I can see a scenario where everyone not named Maxx Crosby could be traded. Some of them are outlandish, but sure, I could see that.

Hondo, I read a story from another media outlet that said the Raiders had mishandled Josh Jacobs. Any thoughts? --David M.

I won’t comment on other media, especially stories I haven’t read. That said, I can name players I think they have mishandled, but not Jacobs. I said they shouldn’t have picked up the fifth-year option before he declined it, and it is essential to remember that 2022, a contract year, was by far his best campaign. I like Josh Jacobs, the person, and I have a ton of respect for his game, but the reality is that the Raiders have handled him professionally.

Hondo, I know you don’t like giving your opinion, but I am asking for it. What two players (one on offense, one on defense) have the most pressure this season? --Thank you. Lawrence P.

On offense, it is Jimmy Garoppolo. No doubt, all of the pressure is on him. On defense, it has to be Chandler Jones. He is right on the cusp of the Hall of Fame, and he can’t end his career with another 2022 or less productive season.

Hondo, was the Raiders' choice to let Denzel Perryman go the biggest mistake of the offseason? --Tom J.

First, let me say this. I love Denzel, the man and the player. But in the NFL, the best ability is the availability. Perryman wasn’t available enough. While his great plays and impact on the defense will be remembered, his lack of availability won’t. The Raiders upgraded the position by signing Robert Spillane from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Check out my podcast on that below:

Hey Hondo, I was listening to another podcast this week, and the topic was Sebastian Janikowski. Do you think that he is a Hall of Fame player?  --Gene P.

No. The Hall of Fame is a place where you don't debate. You either know a guy is a Hall of Fame player, or he isn't.  If you have to debate, they don't belong.

Now from our weekly Hate Hondo email:

You all have been nice to me this week—no Hondo hate. Come on; you can do better next week.
