HENDERSON, Nev.--The Las Vegas Raiders fan base is ravenous for information, and each week we endeavor to feed that voracious appetite with our weekly question-and-answer article: So without any further adieu, here we go:

Hondo, I know that you say you do not like ifs and or buts, but...If the Raiders can't trade their pick at number seven, who do you think they would take? --Kate H.

Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

Hondo, in an ideal world, what would the Raiders love to do with their first-round pick? --Peter D.

Ideal for the Raiders would be a trade down to the mid-teens, and then trade that for an even lower first-rounder and accumulate even more. Have maybe 14 or even 15 picks this year to yield top talent.

Hondo, I trust your evaluations. I heard you say on a recent podcast that teams have Devon Weatherspoon and Christian Gonzalez, either 1A or 1B. How do you have them rated? --Thank you, B. Fary

Most people I trust have Witherspoon as 1A and Gonzalez as 1B.  So that is the order I have them, but honestly, the Raider Nation should be thrilled with either. Additionally, Witherspoon being an Illinois player, I think, helps Nate Hobbs, who is also an Illini.

Hondo, I am so sorry that I can't remember where I heard you say it, but I caught the end of you being interviewed, and in that interview, you said something about any of those guys at number seven that should make Raider Nation happy. What guys were you talking about? --Thank you, J. Bassett

I said that, ideally, the Raiders would love to have some quarterbacks drop to entice more suitors to trade up for their seventh overall pick. But, if the Raiders make the pick and walk away with Will Anderson, Tyree Wilson, Devon Witherspoon, or Christian Gonzalez, I believe the Raider Nation should be happy with that.

Hondo, are there any offensive linemen that you think, if the Raiders decide to go that way, they should take with their pick at seven in the NFL Draft?  I absolutely love your work; you are my favorite beat writer. --Thank you, Ali J.

You sure are kind, thank you. I know that the Raiders love Peter Skoronski from Northwestern. If they selected him, he is worthy of that spot, but it would shock me with the depth of need on defense. Again, I would hate the pick; he is a great player and worthy of it; just saying with the needs this team has, it would shock me. We all know they will take some linemen; I don't see it at seven overall.

Hondo, I want you to know that I appreciate that you are covering my Raiders. You are not a hater, but you aren't a (butt) kisser. I love that you keep it real. My wife says that you are good for me, and she doesn't mind when I listen and read you. I am behind Dave Ziegler now because of you. I'm not there with McDaniels, but I don't hate him like  I did. You are fair and straight up. Keep it 100, brother. --Rod H.

Thank you, Rod. I appreciate you. I am not a fan, so that I can be objective, and I appreciate you recognizing it.

OK, everyone, I am sorry. No Hondo Hate this week, but I did get one funny one.

My man Hondo. Everyone commented about your "hot wife," so I had to look. You did well, so I will be a little nervous about your talking skills. If you could convince that gorgeous goddess to marry you, and you are right, she's out of your league; I can't have you convincing me that Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels are good. Happy draft, and keep up the good work. --Luke V.

Thank you for the kind words about my wife. She is as beautiful inside as she is out and is a complete blessing to our family. I am grateful that she is my bride.
