In this story:

HENDERSON, Nev.--The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the most passionate fan bases in the world of professional sports, and today we answer some of their questions and emails.

Hi Hondo. Could you please tell me your thoughts on Zamir White? Can he be a real RB1 for us? Kyle S.

He can be if he improves in the passing game.

Hondo, do you think Jarrett Stidham would have been a better fit than Brian Hoyer? Zach B.

No. Brian has a specific role as a safety valve and a teacher for Aidan O’Connell. Brian is perfect for that job.

Hondo, I have grown to really love your content. You talk about Maxx Crosby being the best in the NFL, yet you admit him not having the accolades. You call Josh Jacobs the second-best running back while admitting he was the NFL rushing leader. I am not calling you out, so feel free to answer my question privately if you prefer. I would just like to understand how you come to those opinions. Thank you, Sameer A.

Great question. I base my opinion on my conversations with NFL people from numerous teams. I can tell you that the people in the NFL consider Maxx the best in the NFL. Those in the NFL HIGHLY respect Josh, but not the highest, based on the people I speak to. I think some take the sentiments that I report and miss the fact that I am not giving my personal opinions alone. I am giving people that I respect thoughts that shape my opinion.

Hondo, I was listening to Rich Eisen, and he had Miles Sanders on. He was talking about Josh Jacobs and the other backs and he said this. “You want to franchise tag and create a certain market for running backs just because you have this way of thinking that they only last three or four years,” Sanders said. “I think it’s B.S., honestly. Almost every running back is underpaid right now. I don’t know what it’s gonna take. That’s a topic that needs to be brought up a little more because it sucks to be a running back right now, honestly.” What would be your advice, and what are your thoughts? Thank you for answering. Willie Z.

I would suggest that if the players don’t like the evolution of the pay for running back, they pick another position. I know that fans hate this, but the NFL is a business for everyone but the fans.

Hondo, what do you think about all the latest gambling suspensions. Is the NFL keeping it vague or is it on the players? Any thoughts? E. Grant

I called a current NFL player and read him your questions. I figured that would be the best way to answer you. Here is his exact answer, “If you get f***ed by the NFL and suspended for gambling that is on you. You have to be a complete dumb ass or think you are above the rules. We all know, dear God it sucks because we get spoken to about it all the time, and if you get caught, you are a complete dumb ass.”

Hondo, I was a major critic of you until recently. You were very critical of the Raiders trying to make Nate Hobbs play on the outside and struggling and not returning him to the slot where he showed out as a rookie. When I watched you ask more than one coach about it, and even press in on another, you won me. My question is, what do you think they do this year? G. Fawcett

I think they will play Nate Hobbs more in the slot, but they will not stop attempting to make him a broader cornerback.

Now from our weekly Hate Hondo email:

You all have been nice to me this week—no Hondo hate. Come on; you can do better next week.
