Podcast: Wait for the Announcement, Assembling a Staff

The Las Vegas Raiders have flipped the page to the 2024 offseason, and owner Mark Davis is officially on the hunt for the Silver and Black's next permanent General Manager and Head Coach.

Which direction will Davis go? Nobody knows, but the process is underway. We have said from the beginning that we expect Champ Kelly to be named permanent general manager and Antonio Pierce to be the permanent head coach.

Antonio Pierce addressed transitioning from a position coach and a coordinator to the CEO Head Coach chair. "Yeah, I think that's a good point there," Pierce said. "That was my role and that's something I've done in various locations, but there's nothing like calling the defense now, don't get that wrong. Getting after people and I've been fortunate to be coached by some really good defensive coordinators and want to study and learn and put my own little twist on it. But when you delegate to your assistants and allow them to have a say or put input, that makes you a better coordinator, and that's no different as a head coach. And that's what I think has given me the opportunity to be in the position I am today is because of our assistant coaches, them being the best version of themselves, understanding and taking input and listening. I think the one thing I've learned as I've gotten older is becoming a better listener, and I think that's obviously a facet and a trait that I don't think a lot of people really do. Everybody wants to talk, everybody has the answers. Sometimes you just need to listen."

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
