Rams WR Cooper Kupp Returns To NFL Top 100 Rankings
For second consecutive year and third time overall, Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp was voted as one of the NFL's elite players by his peers.
The Rams star came in at No. 47 on the annual NFL Top 100 Rankings, as voted by the league's players. Kupp experienced quite the fall from last year, when he ranked No. 4 on the list after winning Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Despite his fall in the rankings, Kupp still had a solid showing in 2022. He didn't reach the highs of the season prior, but still finished with 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games. That's the kicker, though, as injuries derailed his season prematurely. As an added challenge, the same fate struck quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Kupp is still one of the top receivers in the league, and he topped several other prominent receivers in the rankings. The receivers he ranked above include Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, No. 53), Deebo Samuel (San Francisco 49ers, No. 61), Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions, No. 67), Garrett Wilson (New York Jets, No. 74), DeAndre Hopkins (Tennessee Titans, No. 90), Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders, No. 94) and DeVonta Smith (Philadelphia Eagles, No. 100).
Kupp made his debut on the NFL Top 100 in 2020, coming in at No. 89 after recording his first 1,000-yard season the year before. After missing the cut in 2021, he returned to the list in triumphant fashion to claim a spot in the top five after a historic season. Now Kupp has made back-to-back appearances in the rankings for the first time in his career, and he doesn't plan on ending his streak any time soon.
Kupp has been the Rams' top offensive weapon for the last few years, and with the Rams suffering major losses this offseason, he will have an even bigger role on his shoulders in 2023. If the Rams are to rebound this season, especially on offense, Kupp must be at the top of his game once again.
