Cooper Kupp Still NFL's Best? Peers Vote Rams WR in Top 5

Where does Rams Star Cooper Kupp rank among receivers in the eyes of his NFL peers?

Los Angeles wide receiver Cooper Kupp is beloved by Rams fans after breaking several franchise single-season receiving records en route to winning Super Bowl LVI. And according to NFL executives, coaches, scouts and players (arguably the most-educated opinions), Kupp is still worthy of being a top-5 receiver in the league after his 2022 season was cut short.

In a poll asking about the NFL's top receivers posted by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Pro Bowler Kupp landed at the No. 5 spot, after sitting at No. 2 heading into last season. Kupp received votes as high as the No. 1 best receiver while some ballots left him unranked.

The Rams are only one year removed from an incredibly productive season in which Kupp earned a receiver's triple crown, leading the league in receptions, yards and touchdowns. To top off Kupp's historic season, in Super Bowl LVI, he scored the game-winning touchdown which led to his selection as Super Bowl MVP.

Last season was a different story as Kupp missed nine games with an ankle injury in the Rams' historically awful 5-12 season. His yards per catch average decreased but he still totaled 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

Missing an identity (and a lot of players) on offense last season, L.A. has the third-worst odds to win the NFC West division this season. In order to bounce back, the Rams must be able to rely on their passing game.

With a healthy Kupp and quarterback Matthew Stafford, there is reason to believe that the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year can return to greatness. His peers certainly think so.
