Should Rams Sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling After Being Cut by Chiefs?

If the Los Angeles Rams were to get a solidified wide receiver three, then that could push the team over the top.

The Los Angeles Rams had one of the best passing attacks in the league this past season, and a solidified wide receiver three could make it even better.

The reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly releasing veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling, and the Rams could be an intriguing option for him to end up with.

The Rams had one of the best receiver corps in the entire league this past season and were led well by field general Matthew Stafford. If the team were to get an experienced player like Valdes-Scantling to be a veteran presence, it could push the Rams over the edge.

Although the 29-year-old receiver had a slower year this past season, he had just under 700 receiving yards in his 2022 campaign. He provides a deep option for whatever team he is on, and that would work well with what the Rams have.

Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are both not as fast, but are great after the catch, as they make their own plays in open space. Therefore, Valdez-Scantling would have more space because teams give more attention to the stars of the team.

The team already has a deep threat in Tutu Atwell, who is 24 years old. But the veteran presence that Valdes-Scantling would bring should at least make the team think about making a move for the free-agent wide receiver.
