NFL Schedule Release: Rams Travel 4th-Most Miles in the League

The Los Angeles Rams will be racking up their miles in 2023, traveling over 26,000 miles on the season

The schedule for the 2023 NFL season releases on Thursday night, but each team's opponents have been known for months now. Because of this, numbers like strength of schedule and how far each team will travel are available before the schedule releases.

In terms of travel, the Los Angeles Rams drew one of the tougher schedules in the league. According to Bills Speros of Bookies.com, the Rams will travel 26,332 miles this season, the fourth-most of any team in the league.

It's not too surprising to see L.A. near the top of this list. There are more teams on the East Coast than the West Coast, so teams on that side of the country like the Rams will naturally rack up more miles. All NFC teams also play nine games on the road and only eight at home this season, meaning an additional road trip for the Rams.

Of L.A.'s nine road games this year, four of them are against teams in the Eastern time zone. Two more are against teams in the Central time zone, those being the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. The only road games in the Pacific time zone are against their divisional foes, save for the Arizona Cardinals in the Mountain time zone.

Speaking of the Rams' NFC West rivals, they will also be racking up the miles this season. The Seattle Seahawks (31,600) and the San Francisco 49ers (29,958) are the two teams set to travel the most miles this season. The Cardinals aren't far behind, traveling the seventh-most miles in the league with 25,126.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Cincinnati Bengals travel the fewest miles in the league at just 11,942. The Green Bay Packers are a very close second in this category, traveling 11,956 miles.

The Rams know they're in for a lot of air time this season. All that's left to determine is the exact order they'll be traveling in.
