Training Camp Power Rankings: Where Do Rams Land?

Are Rams' Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald enough to elevate the team's ranking?

As we close in on the training camp countdown, we are well-aware that the Los Angeles Rams are not highly-regarded. "Rebuilding'' or "remodeling'' or however the Rams would like it characterized ... they are not presently perceived as a powerhouse, to be sure.

That's our thoughts, and we see that generally being mirrored across the internet. Touchdown Wire, for instance, created power rankings for all 32 teams.

The Rams landed at the No. 24 spot. But, in a sign of respect, Natalie Miller, the author, said she moved the Rams higher than other ranking sites because of the few standout players that remain from the 2021 Super Bowl team.

"The Rams are very clearly in a bit of a rebuild, and while they still have multiple stars on the roster, it is tough to envision them lifting the team above mediocrity," Miller said. "The [quarterback] Matt Stafford to [receiver] Cooper Kupp connection could be enough to lift the Rams out of the pit they find themselves in."

Stafford and Kupp's record-breaking connection in 2021 worked fairly well in 2022, but they would both get hurt midway through the season. With that being said, Stafford was subpar when targeting other receivers when healthy.

The 35-year-old quarterback is hoping his prime years in the NFL are still intact as last season may have been a fluke.

Kupp averaged over 90 yards in the nine games he played in 2022. Assuming he plays a full season, the 30-year-old is still very much in his prime and can hopefully lead Los Angeles in proving NFL analysts/sites wrong.

Last but certainly not least, Aaron Donald is the lone defensive superstar from the  Lombardi Trophy-hoisting team. He also suffered injuries last season, but hopes to continue to perform at the All-Pro level.

However, the Rams will obviously need more than just these three to win and move up in the future rankings. And around here? We are frankly looking forward to when the offseason rankings are rendered obsolete ... and when the actual NFL standings tell the story of who's good and who isn't.
