Rookie DT Kobie Turner Reveals 'Favorite Moment' With Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams rookie defensive tackle Kobie Turner explains that one of his teammates made the moment even more special.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Kobie Turner is one of the many rookies on this young 3-3 team that is acclimating to the speed of the NFL at a rapid rate.

The third-round pick has built many relationships with teammates and coaches since his name was called on draft day, and he has created lifelong memories in those few short months.

Turner broke down his favorite moment throughout that span during Tuesday's edition of Rams Revealed.

"It was the first sack," Turner said. "It was just a crazy moment in my first game (against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1). It was another stunt that I was working in tandem with (fellow defensive tackle Aaron Donald) on."

Turner explained that Donald has been a very positive influence on him and that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year's mentorship has been extremely beneficial to his NFL upbringing. What followed Turner's first sack was a big reason why it's his favorite moment.

"I don't talk about this with him a lot, but obviously he's a guy that I've looked up to a ton," Turner said. "To be able to make that play and go over and celebrate with him, but then being able to come back the next play and he makes the sack was a big-time moment. For that to be the first of my career was huge."

This isn't the first time that Turner's shown admiration towards Donald's leadership, as he spoke about him just last week.

"I'm learning how (Donald) turns it on in those big moments and always gets to the passer—whether it be in games, practices or even walkthroughs—nobody's touching or blocking him," Turner said. "Him attracting so much attention gives me an opportunity to go and make plays as well. Now it's just time that I go and do it."

Turner was a backup during his favorite moment and played limited snaps. He continued with that role up until Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles, when starter Bobby Brown suffered an MCL sprain and was later sent to the IR.

The rookie made his starting debut this past Sunday (Week 6) against the Arizona Cardinals and logged five total tackles and a pass breakup. As Brown recovers, Turner has enjoyed "taking the next step" in his young career and hopes to continue improving this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
