'Explosive!' Ravens Take WR Xavier Legette in Latest NFL Mock Draft

The Baltimore Ravens were projected to claim Xavier Legette, a wideout from the South Carolina Gamecocks, in the latest NFL mock draft.

The Baltimore Ravens' season has come to a close, and after falling in the AFC Championship Game, what is one step the franchise can make to reach the Super Bowl next year?

A good start would be winning the 2024 NFL Draft.

Xavier Legette

The Ravens have a deep roster and an explosive offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, but what pieces can Baltimore claim in the draft to help boost its roster with young talent? According to the latest projections from FanNation, the Ravens could go with an "explosive" wide receiver who draws comparisons to NFL star Deebo Samuel.

This is none other than the South Carolina Gamecocks' Xavier Legette, and you can read an excerpt from Athlon Sports on the prospect below.

"(Don’t say the name Deebo Samuel…don’t say the name Deebo Samuel…don’t say the name Deebo Samuel.)

"Legette’s built just like former South Carolina offensive weapon Deebo Samuel (dang it). With explosive open-field speed, a dense and thick frame, special teams abilities, and his run-after-catch upside, the parallels run deeper than just the helmet."

Wideout Zay Flowers (also explosive) led the Ravens in receiving yards this season with 858, but could Legette complement the current roster makeup in Baltimore? It's worth noting that veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. is slated to hit the free agent market this offseason, so perhaps the Ravens could alleviate his loss with some youth in the former Gamecock.

If Legette's build and speed translate to the NFL like Deebo Samuel's, just imagine what a combination of him and Lamar Jackson could mean for opposing defenses. In short, it would be dangerous, without a doubt.

Legette put up insane numbers with South Carolina this season, hauling in 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. One of his biggest games of the year came against the Mississippi State Bulldogs where he put up 189 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a 37-30 win at home.
