Cleveland Must-Haves: Ravens Sought Ex-Browns Throwers

In this story:
The Baltimore Ravens' entire existence hinges upon uprooting former Cleveland Browns from The Forest City. They reportedly tried to repeat the concept twice as they try to resolve their increasingly alarming passing situation.
As the civil war of attrition continues with current franchise man Lamar Jackson, the Ravens reportedly sought to add Jacoby Brissett and Baker Mayfield, the Browns' primary starting quarterbacks over each of the last two seasons (per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler).
Baltimore has apparently missed out on both. Brissett is on his way to the Washington Commanders after keeping the Browns' starting spot warm for the suspended Deshaun Watson. while Mayfield is reportedly moving to Tampa Bay to succeed Tom Brady.
Mayfield, who spent last season between Carolina and the Los Angeles Rams, was linked to the Ravens after the team's hiring of Todd Monken as offensive coordinator, the two having previously collaborated in the same roles with the Browns in 2019.
While Brissett and Mayfield's respective careers have taken the journeyman's route, each has formed a lasting prescience in the league and stood as attractive passing options with several of the big names off the board.
Baltimore, of course, must first somehow settle Jackson's situation as both sides have until July 17 to work out a long-term deal before the current quarterback would be forced to play on the franchise tag (which he could negate by opting to sit out the 2023 campaign).
Another sign of little progress on Jackson's longevity came earlier this week when the Ravens brought back incumbent backup Tyler Huntley. The idea of the tenured backup, entering his fourth season with Baltimore, earning a full-time starter's role is inching closer toward reality with the Jackson stalemate continuing and former Browns catching on with new homes.
