The Lamar Jackson saga continues ... with a one-man weather report.

The very public and sometimes high school-like drama surrounding the story seems to get juicier and yet at the same time sadder with each passing day.

We've dealt with everything from cryptic tweets about Jackson's refusal to use an agent, to tweets refuting reports of a supposed agent - who isn't really an agent - who is allegedly reaching out to teams on behalf of Jackson.

And just when we thought it couldn't get stranger...

In yet another cryptic tweet on Friday, Jackson had a simple message that most likely he only understands:

‘I’m the storm,” asserted Lamar … but what exactly is he asserting?

We recognize the saying, the warrior responding to a caution about the storm by uttering the words above. It’s also a book title and it’s probably somewhere in “Game of Thrones.”

But … This is just another in a long line of tweets and reports surrounding maybe the most-watched topic in the NFL this offseason, and Lamar might be the only one who knows its meaning.

In a super-competitive AFC where a star quarterback is necessary to advance, Jackson has shown the ability to beat Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert. He's also shown he can single-handedly destroy the best defensive game plan devised to stop him.

But Jackson's refusal to use the services of a skilled agent - not just to do the contract but to also protect a client from all the other storms - seems to be hurting him, yet he has no plans of changing that.

The Ravens rightfully have some concerns about his alleged demands of a $200-plus million contract. Since the final day of his third season, when he became eligible for an extension, he's dealt with illness, Covid (twice), a foot injury, and now a knee injury. That's all in addition to the social media drama.

This whole thing seems to have escalated since the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which will pay him a guaranteed $32.41 million next season, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight.

So get ready, because depending on what happens with Jackson, the Ravens could be in for a quick turnaround and another playoff appearance, or a full-on rebuild that doesn't see the postseason for a number of years.

And that would be a storm of another sort.
