New Orleans Saints All-Pro and Pro Bowl defensive end Cam Jordan will battle in the very first "NFL Pro Bowl VERZUZ presented by Verizon."
VERZUZ battles have taken over the entertainment world. R & B, Hip Hop, and legendary performers have showcased their talents on the live entertainment platform launched by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.
The show has generated more than 30 million views and 23 billion impressions in 2020. The 2020 marquee head-to-head clashes included performers like Brandy vs. Monica, Jeezy vs. Gucci Mane, Babyface vs. Teddy Riley, and New Orleans' rap legend Mannie Fresh vs. Scott Storch.
Cam Jordan has never been shy of the camera since arriving in New Orleans. He dances after big plays and on the sidelines, but also, he's hilarious in press conferences. Jordan is a spokesman in commercials and social forums. Over the years, he has become a respected voice in the NFL, but performing live is new for the Saints' star player.
Fellow NFL Pro Bowlers Deshaun Watson, Jamal Adams, Budda Baker, DeAndre Hopkins, Jalen Ramsey, Myles Garrett, and more players will join Jordan. The players will compete against one another in several entertainment categories on the live stream.
The player battles' full lineup will be announced on Monday, January 25, via NFL and VERZUZ social media accounts.
The VERZUZ founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland shared their thoughts about having the NFL allowing the players to perform using their creation:
"I'm looking forward to seeing the players go head to head with their highlights!" says Swizz Beatz."
These guys are icons just like the artists, let's give them their flowers." Timbaland adds, "Verzuz partnering with the NFL made sense for us with culture, sports and music being so aligned.
NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and NFL Network host MJ Acosta-Ruiz will host the events every night from January 26-29 at 8:00 PM ET on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and more platforms.
Tim Ellis, NFL EVP & Chief Marketing Officer, remarked, "Through this collaboration, elite Pro Bowl players will get an opportunity to directly engage with fans in real-time in a friendly debate of their career highlights, in an array of diverse categories that will show that our players' personalities off the field are just as fun and entertaining as their extraordinary talents on the field."
Elements of the "NFL Pro Bowl VERZUZ presented by Verizon" will also be featured during the ESPN/ABC simulcast of the '2021 Pro Bowl Celebration presented by Verizon' on Sunday, January 31, at 3 PM ET.
