Bobby Wagner Among Top Free Agents Available: Cowboys vs. Seahawks?

Among the top-tier talents waiting to be signed, ESPN ranked Wagner as the third-best player available.

Future Hall-Of-Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner remains unsigned as NFL free agency rolls.

There have been rumors about the aging All-Pro linebacker heading to the Dallas Cowboys or a reunion with the Seattle Seahawks but there’s no official movement yet on where Wagner will land. The durable 32-year-old started all 17 games for the Los Angeles Rams last season, playing nearly every defensive snap.

He recorded 140 tackles, a career-high six sacks, two interceptions, and five passes defended. Wagner was a second-team All-Pro.

The 11-year veteran is ranked as ESPN's third-best player available, behind tight end Dalton Schultz, who takes the top spot on ESPN's rankings. One Seahawk made the list, defensive tackle Poona Ford at No. 31.

Wagner's declining play speed shows on the tape, but the six-time first-team All-Pro linebacker can still produce due to his high-level awareness and defensive instincts. Last season, Wagner logged 81 solo tackles with six sacks and two interceptions. He can key and diagnose with speed to track the ball. A one-year deal from a contending team adds up here.

Seattle just signed former first-round draft selection linebacker Devin Bush to its improving defense. Coming off a surprise appearance in 2022, Seattle has the third-best odds to win the NFC West Division. Linebacker is still a position of need for the underdog Seahawks and Quandre Diggs has been working overtime on social media to recruit Wagner to return to Seattle.

Hoping to turn his former teammate into a current teammate, Diggs tweeted old "photoshopped" pictures of him and Wagner playing together and called out Seattle's social team to announce a deal already.

The team could also opt to wait until the draft to address the position again. So for the moment … Wags waits.
