As new Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald continues to put his new staff together, position coaches continue to arrive in town.

On Wednesday, CBS Insider Jonathan Jones reported that the Seahawks interviewed former Las Vegas Raiders assistant Fred Walker to be the quarterbacks coach under Macdonald in Seattle.

"The Seahawks are interviewing Fred Walker today for their vacant QBs coach position, source says. Walker most recently served on the Raiders staff and helped the QBs after the McDaniels firing. He previously served as Dak Prescott’s position coach at Miss. State."

Walker has more college experience than pro, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for Macdonald, as new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb fits that same description.

Walker spent four seasons at Mississippi State with the Bulldogs coaching Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott. He also coached New York Giants signal-caller Daniel Jones when he was at Duke. Walker also spent time at Murray State and UMass.

Walker's only NFL experience came when then-Raiders coach Josh McDaniels hired him in 2022. The Seahawks would be Walker's second stint in the NFL if he's hired.
