'Still Room To Grow' For Seattle Seahawks, Says LB Bobby Wagner

The Seattle Seahawks have entered their bye week sitting nicely at 3-1 after disposing of the New York Giants, but despite winning three games on the bounce, veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner still sees room for improvement.

Coming off the 24-3 Monday night beatdown of the New York Giants, the Seattle Seahawks don't have much to complain about after winning three straight headed into Week 5's bye. But that doesn't mean they can't get better.

After a decent first month of football, the Seahawks are now enjoying an early bye week as they look to review their opening four weeks. For veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner, there are still plenty of things to work on.

"We feel really good where we’re at," Wagner said via Fox News. "Even though we’re 3-1, we have a lot of room to grow on the defensive side. We have a lot of room to grow on the offensive side. We’re still getting guys healthy. I don’t think this team has reached its potential yet, which is good. You want to keep building until the end of the season, and you want to reach your potential at the right time."

Despite the Seahawks' early success, Wagner knows there's room for improvement.

Wagner is right. Pursuing perfection for every NFL team means there is always something to improve on.

After the first four games of the season, the Seahawks offense ranks sixth for points per game (27.8), and the defense is 17th for points allowed per game (22.8).

Offensively, while the Seahawks have been putting up points and, rather surprisingly, only have one turnover in for games, third-down conversions have been their Achilles heel so far, converting just 13 of 45 attempts (28.9 percent).

While in the red zone, Seattle has scored touchdowns 10 time of the 17 trips they've had this season (58.8 percent).

Defensively, aside from the Los Angeles Rams game in Week 1, it has been reasonably solid. The unit has forced six turnovers, managed 16 sacks (11 of which came against the Giants), 32 quarterback hits, and 25 tackles for loss. That'll work.

Right now, the Seahawks can feel pleased with their opening month's work. But there is still a lot to work on, and that chase for perfection will no doubt continue during the bye week.
