Seahawks 7-Round Mock Draft: Seattle Picks QB, Adds to Multiple Areas

The Seattle Seahawks snag a quarterback with their first pick in a recent seven-round mock draft.

As mock draft season begins to wind down with the 2023 NFL Draft set to start on Thursday, it's a perfect time to attempt the impossible by predicting who the Seattle Seahawks will come away with after making their 10 selections (barring a trade, of course).

CBS Sports gave this a shot on Friday, predicting that the Seahawks will end up keeping all of their picks. However, projecting who they ends up with after it's all said and done is a different story.

Here's a look at who the Seahawks came away with:

No. 5 - Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

Richardson has been endlessly connected to the Seahawks leading up to the draft, and they finally pull the trigger on him here.

The dual-threat stud went 176 of 327 passing for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions this past season. He added 103 carries for 654 yards and nine touchdowns. The stats leave more to be desired, while turnovers and overall efficiency will be the focus of improvement. But he's set to be a rookie for a reason.

No. 20 - Myles Murphy, DL, Clemson

Murphy helped spear-head a Clemson defense that was one of the better units statistically in college football this past season. The 6-5, 275-pound defensive end had 40 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two passes defended.

No. 37 (Round 2) - Joe Tippmann, C, Wisconsin

Tippmann was the cornerstone of Wisconsin's offensive line this past season and in 2021. After helping the Badgers finish with the second-best rushing offense a year ago, he started all 12 games at center in 2022, allowing just one sack and five quarterback pressures.

No. 52 (Round 2) - Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina

Downs finished 2022 with the sixth-most catches in the country (94) while adding 1,029 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had four multi-touchdown finishes and six 100-yard receiving games.

No. 83 (Round 3) - Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina

Pickens earned five team awards this past season, which included being honored as the team MVP. He finished his collegiate career with 131 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.

No. 123 (Round 4) - DeWayne McBride, RB, UAB

McBride finished 16 yards short of being the nation's leading rusher this past season (1,713). However, he still had the third-most rushing touchdowns (19) and rushing yards per carry (7.4). All of this was even more impressive considering he had just the 15th-most carries in the country (233).

No. 151 (Round 5) - Rejzohn Wright, CB, Oregon State

An All-Pac 12 First-Team selection, Wright finished his college career with 17 pass breakups, one sack, one forced fumble and four interceptions.

No. 154 (Round 5) - Jordan Howden, S, Minnesota

Howden is an experienced player, who started 49 of 58 career games in five years of collegiate play. He totaled 240 tackles, 20 pass breakups and four interceptions.

No. 198 (Round 6) - Dee Winters, LB, TCU

Despite being an undersized linebacker, Winters shined on an elite TCU defense for a Horned Frogs team that made it all the way to the National Championship in January. A First-Team All-Big 12 selection and CFP Semifinal Defensive MVP, he finished his four-year career with 12.5 sacks, 10 passes defended and three interceptions, the last of which was a 29-yard pick-six in the CFP Semifinal win over Michigan.

No. 237 (Round 7) - Atonio Mafi, IOL, UCLA

Mafi is as experienced as they come. While helping the Bruins rushing offense finish with the sixth-most rushing yards per game last season (238.2), he also tied the UCLA school record with 56 career games played.
